About

FileCoop is a simple, intuitive document management solution for individuals and small businesses.  Based on Java, FileCoop provides an easy way to drag-and-drop documents to the cloud using 'filewords' which can be used later to search for the documents in a manner similar to a search engine as opposed to a hierarchical foldering system.

What is the cloud?  Storing the documents in the cloud means that the documents actually reside on a hosted server instead of the user's desktop.  The benefits of this are that the documents are available from anywhere with an internet connection, backups are done for you, and there is no need to update the software.  Because of the way FileCoop delivers its web-based service, new features are automatically available each time FileCoop is launched.

FileCoop is meant to replace file cabinets for the majority of documents.  Common examples of documents to store in FileCoop are tax documents, insurance policies, financial records, utility statements, invoices, and receipts.  The only documents that should not rely on FileCoop would be documents with signatures or original documents such as birth certificates, marriage licenses, etc. with signatures or original documents such as birth certificates, marriage licenses, etc.
